Frieze Carpeting

This classification of carpet has many different names including frieze, cut berber, and California berber, twist, and shag among many others.  Frieze carpets have a lot to offer consumers, they are extremely durable, elegant looking, and many are offered with a fleck which is an excellent camouflaging agent for hiding dirt.   These carpets mimic the shag carpeting that was popular in the 1970's, however today's version is much tamer.  Frieze carpeting has an average height of 1-2" and is usually an extremely tightly twisted yarn, which allows for excellent wear.  This style of carpet is more of a casual look and is very comfortable in appearance.  Many of the frieze styles are available in the latest soft yarn fibers including Mohawk's Triexta and Tactesse.  To find out if this type of carpeting suits your need, stop in and see what House of Color has to offer.
